Since 1999 Be’er-Sova has been providing meals to Beer Sheva’s citizens in need: the elderly, Holocaust survivors, immigrants, women living under the poverty line and youth at-risk. In Be’er-Sova’s Community Kitchen, clients receive nutritious meals in a pleasant and dignified meeting place and breakthrough programming aimed at ending the cycle of poverty. The Community Kitchen hosts 70-100 people a day, 6 days a week, and offers empowerment groups for women, after-school programming for youth and free legal-aid. The kitchen employs Beer Sova clients, many of whom are women, mothers, referred by the Welfare Agency and in need of empowerment, training and employment.
